Long time without any updates. Sorry for that. Been too busy lately (aren't we all busy always). Unfortunately God-irc development has been on ice for a long time now and it seems to be that way for some time to come. However Neil told he had made some new scripts, so u never know. And yes there are some bugs in the evo.6 release (minor tho) But still i decided to put back some of the last 5x branch versions (5.6) which has naturally fewer options etc, but for some gamers there isnt those bugs. Its based on mIRC 6.14, yes a bit old. But actually the most important thing is the newer mIRC versions does not really have any security fixes so God-irc is safe to use even today. Ow and one another thing, i had to temporarily disable new registrations to our forum, you can still browse it tho.

Just a little update on whats going on. As much as i love to copy/paste, i wont this time so if you wonder why our site/forum and all has been down for so long read THIS

We decided to start using once again our .tk domain www.god-irc.tk for redicting to this site and while we wonder how to get our real domain back. So spread the word that .tk is up and running. If theres some banner or popups inserted by .tk which you cannot block you can access this site directly from http://godirc.adslinfo.us/ too.

I managed to setup our forum software back and even restore one of its most recent sql backups! so not too many posts should be missing (ill put the forum online soon).
Some Links etc on this site may and propably will be wrong and pointing to our ex-host at the moment but i will try to fix those shortly.
All the most needed files are still available from HERE just in case.

For all you out there you use or have upgraded to God-irc evo.6, I have just released a themepack which adds all of the old themes from v5.6 in the new theme form.

You can download it here

Just close God-irc, extract the files to your God-irc folder and then restart God-irc!

Oh my God! It's released at last!! shock horror!!!

That's right, at long last I have released God-irc evo.6. It contains many many improvements over v5.6 and a new theme engine. The long list is below.

There is now no lite version (version without colours) - all you have to do in the new version is disable themes!

A big LOL @ Slovenian imposters!!

I recently received a log file from a friend of mine who was browsing through different irc networks and joining #godirc to see if there was any activity. He happent to join #godirc over at ircnet and surprisingly there was people on the channel [all from Slovenia]. After a short chat one of the ops (14 year old boy according to his nick) Claimed to be the creator and coder of God-irc. When asked where to download a copy of God-irc, no reply.. But the guy was generous enough to dcc send a copy of godirc5.6lite and godpatch. When asked what is the godpatch for? He told to run it over 5.6lite to gain additional protections and scripts ! haha, nice one.. [the file is used to upgrade older version to 5.6] After some more chatting resulted to my friend to get banned from the channel. Shame on you Slovenian liars ! And the story goes on.. But the main point is, the only real #godirc channel is in Quakenet ! So dont believe anyone in other networks. Except the channels stated in "God-irc crew" page
Which reminds me, if you want to be a God-irc admin and take care of a channel in some other network than Quakenet, come and talk with some of the ops in #godirc Quakenet.

Small update.

Mainly a website update. Some of our mirrors (all of them) went down, but luckily god-irc.com is up with all its links are working ( thanks for www.maxhosting.org ). I simply removed all the non working links for full version etc to avoid confusion. Also some email addresses etc has changed but are updated on the webby now. Many people are asking "where is Neil?" He is busy. He also moved few months ago and has no internet atm. So the next version is on ice for time being.
Just a reminder, if you get some problems with 5.6, read FAQ, Forum and/or come to irc and ask any of the ops. If no one answers, make a post in the forum.

Wow ! 50 000 visitors since the counter install (and the counter isnt too old) So looks like there are huge amount of people who likes God-irc. Keep on irccing all fellow Godirccers. God-irc on Gamesnet

God-irc has now expanded out and reached the world of Gamesnet. Thanks to eXpo, #godirc on Gamesnet now exists and will be the God-irc meeting point on the server.

#godirc is now based on Quakenet and Gamesnet and will soon be spreading to other networks as well. If you would like to be an admin on a new network, Undernet, Dalnet, whichever, then email me at: neil_the_bestuk@hotmail.com. You will have to be competent, matur and have a knowledge of God-irc to be able to help other users.

For those of you having problems installing the patch follow these instructions:

Close God-irc
Extract the patch to your God-irc folder
Overwrite all files
Open God-irc
God-irc will then complete the patch process

God-irc v5.3 release date

News update: God-irc v5.3 is almost finished and is just undergoing beta bug testing at the moment.

Work is underway on God-irc v5.3 lite, this is the same as God-irc v5.3 but does NOT have any themes or colours - it looks like the default mirc (white background etc). There will be no patch from God-irc v5.25 to this, it will only be the full exe.

The release date for both these versions is Friday 19th December - not long !!!

On another note, we are trying to get Q in #godirc on quakenet so if u don't mind idling in there, come along !!!

God-irc v5.3 + other stuff

Just a quick update. I'm working on God-irc v5.3 which has a lot of new features and bug fixes. I am going to include more games in the Server Favs browser so if you would like a game including - email the game, a list of commands to launch a game at an ip (eg for ut: /run (ut.exe) unreal://ip), a few ips so I can test it and the icon file for the exe.

Unfortunately there is a little bug in v5.2 - it doesnt say when other people change their nicks !! If this happens for you, close God-irc, download this file and extract it to your God-irc folder, overwritting the old one. This will fix the problem.

If you get an error like:
* /loadbuf: unable to open 'C:\godirc5_ocean\godirc5_ocean\docs\pages.txt' (line 1790, gimain.gi)
DONT worry, its not important. If you wish to stop this error happening, type:
//write -c docs\pages.txt

If you have any problems doing this, come see me in #godirc on quakenet

God-irc version 5.2

This patch for v5 -> v5.2 has actually been in the works for about 1.5months, on and off as I've hardly been on the comp after my tower blew up !!

But rest assured it is on its way and fixes a few major bug problems with God-irc v5 and adds a whole lot of new stuff, some very useful, some fun and some that have been specifically requested !!

Hopefully v5.2 will be out in a few weeks but it depends on work !!

Just a quick note to ONLY people who have downloaded God-irc v5 from mircscripts.org. If you want to use the UT/UT2k3/AOT/bf1942 server browser you will need to download this file, and extract it to your God-irc folder, overwritting all files.

God-irc users who have downloaded God-irc from anwhere else should not download this file as its not needed

I have set a provisional release date for God-irc v5 as either Monday 28th or Tuesday 29th of July - 1 week !! It is a little later than planned as I am just adding BF1942 support into it and will need to test it. Get ready to rumble !!

I will also be revamping the screenshots page to only show v5 screenies :)
